by snacky on Jul.03, 2009, under 91.7 WHUS, Playlists, Radio
This week I borrowed some Joy Division records from my buddy Meatsock. So it was only natural with the weather we have been experiencing in CT here recently to focus more this week on Post-Punk. Also, as unplanned as it was, there seems to be a bit of an American/freedom theme in the song titles that works well with the whole 4th of July weekend thing. Oops.

also i made a mix tape for this first show and will likely make these new wave mix tapes from time to time for use on this show and my own pleasure. i will post the playlist from that for you to check out so that you can make you’re own, just like me, if you so desire.
Snacky’s Back!
by snacky on May.20, 2009, under 91.7 WHUS, News, Radio
or should i say DJ Radio Rocks!!! is here.
it has been a while since there have been any posts here on my website and if any of you are wondering what i have been up to, i am going to do my best to update this site in the coming weeks and months. i have a vision right now of expanding the content of the site to also include local events that may be going on in the Connecticut area (mosty Hartford area). in addition i want to let you know what i am up to and update the site with more music and goodies for you to enjoy.
but right now the big news for me is that i will be returning to the WHUS airwaves after taking some time off and starting a new position at work. i have a new vision with the kind of radio show i want to do as well and it will a bit of a departure from the shows i have done for the past 4 years or so, namely TAKE!down radio and Kris and Snacky’s Untitled Punk Rock Show. i have had a great time doing these shows, don’t get me wrong, but like i said, i feels it’s time to do something a bit different. here is a short blurb describing my new show:
Every week DJ Radio Rocks!!! will dig through his record collection to bring the best (or worst) in 80’s and New Wave. And yes, we are talking records here, not CDs, MP3s but vinyl records. With a collection that spans mostly one decade (the 80’s) you are sure to hear B sides, 12″ mixes, Dub versions and whatever else can be mustered up in addition to those traditional album versions you may be accustomed to. Also mixed into ever setlist of Stand Up And Dance will be new Indie and Electronic music with a decisively retro feel. We will take a look at new music that has it’s roots deeply set in the New Wave & Post-Punk era of the past. So tune in every week and make sure you have plenty of room to Stand Up And Dance. Synthesizers and bad haircuts welcome.
so tune in every Friday afternoon from 4-5pm to check it out. you can listen at 91.7FM if you are local to the UConn/Storrs/Hartford area or stream online at WHUS.org. either way, i know i will be having a great time and i hope you will join me.
The Goodbye Song…..
by Kris on Oct.02, 2008, under News, Playlists
It’s been a great ride, but unfortunately like all good things, Kris and Snacky’s Untitled Punk Rock Show must come to an end……at least for now. After a lot of deliberation and going back and fourth, we have decided to take a little bit of a break and the Untitled Punk Rock Show will not be returning for the next schedule round at WHUS. We are not saying good bye for ever necessarily, just a see you later for right now. I can’t really speak for Snacky, but I’m sure he will echo my sentiments, that I have enjoyed being part of this show, and will miss it for sure! Thank you for listening and putting up with our crazy shennigans week after week. Make sure to stay tuned though, you never know when we will be back!!!!!
~Kris
